Privacy policy
- The app reads labels on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded.
- Your scan history, check-ins and onboarding answers stay on your iPhone. They are not sent to us or synced to iCloud.
- The only personal information we keep is your waitlist email (and the optional answers you give with it).
- Apple handles all payments. We never see your card details.
- No third-party analytics, no ads, no tracking.
Who we are
Pick Often is made by Adeeb Trabulsi (developer) with Suzan Trabulsi, Clinical Dietitian, licensed by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DoH). In this policy, “we” and “us” means the two of us. You can reach us at support@pickoften.com.
What we collect on this website
If you join the waitlist, we store:
- your email address;
- what you would use the app for (PCOS, IBS and gut, gestational diabetes or other);
- your country and the yearly price you would pay, only if you choose to answer;
- the name of the link you arrived from (for example, a particular video), if the link carried one, so we know which posts people find useful.
We use this only to email you when Pick Often is ready and to understand interest and pricing in aggregate. We don't sell it, rent it or share it for marketing.
The website sets no cookies. Our server logs record the page requested, the response code and the time taken, but not your IP address, your form answers or the address you came from. To stop abuse, the waitlist form briefly keeps your IP address in memory to limit repeated sign-ups; it is never written to disk and is cleared within minutes.
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical request data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site. The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google's servers, which see your IP address. We don't use any other Google service.
What happens in the app
When you scan a label, the photo is processed on your iPhone using Apple's on-device text recognition. The photo is not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
Your scan history, check-ins and onboarding answers are stored on your iPhone only. They are not sent to our servers and are not synced to iCloud. If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it.
The app connects to our server only to download the rules and the educational content it shows you. Those requests don't include your scans, answers or any account details. There is no Pick Often account.
Payments and subscriptions
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple ID. Apple processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We never receive your name, card details or billing address; we only learn whether a subscription is active so the app can unlock.
No tracking or advertising
Pick Often has no third-party analytics, no advertising and no tracking across other apps or websites. We don't build profiles about you.
How long we keep information
We keep your waitlist email until we have told you Pick Often is available, and delete the waitlist no later than 12 months after launch. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time. Information in the app stays on your iPhone for as long as you keep it there.
Your choices and deletion requests
To see, correct or delete your waitlist details, email support@pickoften.com from the address you signed up with. We will act on your request within 30 days. You can also ask us to stop emailing you at any time.
To delete what the app stores, remove the app from your iPhone.
Users in the UAE and elsewhere
Pick Often is made for people in the United Arab Emirates and around the world. We aim to handle personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law. We give the same rights to everyone, wherever you live, including the rights to access, correct and delete your information and to object to how we use it. Our server and service providers may be in other countries, so your waitlist details may be processed outside the country you live in. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Pick Often is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for how we use your waitlist email, we will tell you by email before it applies.
